When I was a little girl I used to hang my clothes on the walls of my room, set up a cash register, gather pretend money, find plastic bags, and invite my family to come shop in my boutique. For some reason that stuck with me and 20 years later I still have that same passion to play "store".
I have always wanted to have my own shop. I have sold on Etsy off and on for about 4 years more so as a hobby though. Sometimes life happens and it's nice to be able to "turn off" my virtual storefront when things get busy. Lately though, I've been really really wanting to get my feet wet in retail outside of Etsy. I know I can do it!... I think I can do.. can I do it?
I have been researching my heart out. What does it take to start a boutique? How much money do I need? How will keep track of inventory? How will people find me? What happens if I don't make it? Will my husband hate me? haha. I am so grateful to have a supportive spouse. He says "whatever you decide to do, I'll support you." So here I am... writing my very first blog, in hopes of reassuring myself and others, that it's possible and I've got to start somewhere.
I am working on building my online shop while I figure out all of this storefront stuff. Opening a brick and mortar shop is a huge commitment! I have all kinds of emotions going on right now! I hope you enjoy this journey as much as I will; updates coming soon!
